The thanks and gratitude of the President of the World Physics Olympiad to the organizers of IPhO2024

According to the secretariat of the 54th World Physics Olympiad, Prof. Rajdeep Rawat, President of the World Physics Olympiad, said at the closing ceremony of this event: As the 54th International Physics Olympiad here in Isfahan, Iran, draws to a close, we reflect on a week that was filled with academic rigor of highest standard with excursion into the rich cultural heritage of Iran and memorable experiences of interaction with people from 46 different countries.
He continued: IPhO 2024 has been a special event, not only for the outstanding quality of its experimental and theoretical exams it- presented but also for the unforgettable experience of kind and warm hospitality of the organizers and the people of Iran that we have all had the privilege to experience. We have had the chance to not only test our knowledge and skills through IPhO exam problem but also to immerse ourselves in a culture that values education and scientific discovery.
Referring to the memories of these few days in Isfahan, the president of the World Physics Olympiad said: I am sure you all will, as would I, remember the splendour and vibrancy of Naksh-e-Jahan, grandeur of Jame-e-Mosque, beautiful products and dexterousness of handicraft craftsmen and the eye-opening glimpse of scientific and technological progress of Iran that we experience in our visit to ISTT (Isfahan Science and Technology Town).
He added: I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to those who made IPhO2024 possible and that too with great success.
Rawat stated: First and foremost, I extend my sincere thanks to Ministry of Education of IR of Iran without whose generous support the event is simply not possible, Prof SA. Meybodi, President of Isfahan University of Technology, for hosting IPHO in IUT and for being enthusiastically present and supervising various important events, Chair of the Organizing Committee, Prof Bahmanabadi and his active support Prof Mehdi Sadat, Prof Hossein Ahmadvand, Prof Babaei for their exceptional leadership in handling logistics of the IPhO2024.

The president of the World Physics Olympiad said in connection with the test question design team: other aspects of organization and the entire academic team particularly the team involved in creation of experimental and theoretical problems of highest standards which include Prof Farhad Shahbaz for T1, Prof Saman Moghimi for T2, Prof Soroush Shakeri for T3, Mr Alireza Noorouzshad for E1 and Mr Abolfazl Ebrahimi for E2.
He added: I would also like to thank ProfHamed Prof Hamed Bakhshian for managing logistics of International Board meeting and most importantly all the markers and moderators, who meticulously evaluated and marked the challenging problems that tested the limits of our student participants.
Rawat said: A round of applause is due to the dedicated team of volunteers, the enthusiastic and friendly individuals in Green T-shirts, who we normally call as student and team leader's guide for ensuring the smooth running of events and excursions. Your efforts have not gone unnoticed, and we deeply appreciate your commitment.
He continued: I would like to thank Dr Masood Nikaeen for planning the tours to various historical sites of Isfahan and wonderful and knowledgeable guides for wonderful story and facts telling.
The president of the World Physics Olympiad said: To the IPhO international board members, your diligence in meticulously going through exam problems, translation, marking, and moderation of the exams has been invaluable. I also extend my thanks to all the supporters and sponsors of IPhO 2024 for their generous contributions. Your support has been instrumental in making this event a grand success.
He added: Finally, to the student participants from 46 nations, congratulations on your remarkable achievements. Winning a medal or an honorable mention at IPhO is a testament to your hard work, dedication, and profound understanding of physics. For those who did not win a medal, remember that your participation in this Olympiad is a significant achievement in itself. The road to success is paved with perseverance and continuous effort.
At the end, Rawat addressed the students participating in this Olympiad and noted: I hope that the friendships you have forged and the experiences you have gained here will remain with you for a lifetime. The bonds formed here transcend borders and create a global network of future scientists and innovators.
He continued: The International Physics Olympiad is more than just a competition; it is a celebration of knowledge, curiosity, and the relentless pursuit of the understanding of the universe and how it works. It is a testament to what we can achieve when we come together, share our ideas, and inspire each other. With that, I wish you all a safe journey back home and look forward to seeing many of you again at IPhO 2025 in Paris, France. With this, I declare the IPhO 2024 closed!
