World-Class Experimental Exam Held at IPhO 2024

Hamed Bakhshian, the chief executive of the 54th IPhO, emphasized the rigorous efforts made to ensure the exam adhered to the highest international standards. The design process of the experimental problems began last year, following the official approval for Isfahan University of Technology to host the event," said Bakhshian. "We collaborated with the academic senate, students, and graduates from Isfahan University of Technology, Sharif University of Technology, the University of Qom, and the University of Tehran."
He continued: The questions were crafted to meet the highest scientific standards. The international convention for the approval of the experimental exam problems was held the day before the exam, and we encountered no significant challenges. All participating teams expressed satisfaction with the difficulty level of the problems.
Regarding the equipment and standards, Bakhshian added: The experimental equipment required for this exam was constructed and tested with the utmost precision. We applied world-class standards to ensure a world-class exam.
Bakhshian specified: The experimental exam consisted of two experiments and two problems. According to IPhO regulations, competitors were required to answer the problems individually, and the scores will also be calculated individually.
Discussing the assessment method, he noted: The overall score for each competitor will be calculated based on the combined scores of the experimental and theoretical exams. The experimental part carries 20 points, while the theoretical part carries 30 points.
It is noteworthy that the review and approval convention for the theoretical exam problems will be held today at Isfahan University of Technology, with the theoretical exam scheduled for Thursday, July 25th.
