Head of the International Physics Olympiad: Considering Iran's successful experience in the 2007 Olympiad, I expect outstanding work in this edition.

According to the Secretariat of the 54th International Olympiad, Professor Rajip Ravat, during his visit to Isfahan University of Technology, discussed the impact of the International Physics Olympiad on scientific relations between countries: Primarily, this is a competition among high school students, and past experiences have shown that this event provides a suitable platform for friendly and close relationships among participating students, which are maintained through social networks like Facebook and WhatsApp and will continue in the future.

He continued: Some of these students will study at the same university in the near future, continuing their connections among themselves, and the faculties where they study will re-send them as team supervisors to future Olympiads. Additionally, many of them meet each other periodically, approximately once a year.

The head of the International Physics Olympiad emphasized: I have been present at almost all editions of the Olympiad, and even before coming here, I knew Professor Ahmad Shirzad very well. Due to the good communication network established between team supervisors and observers, we were already familiar with them before this Olympiad.

Referring to the exchange of scientific experiences among supervisors and observers from different countries, he added: We share our opinions with each other and sometimes discuss how to present physics and science in general to the public. These discussions often suggest that it may be better to present physics in a traditional way to the world.

Ravat continued: People like Professor Syria from Indonesia have launched groups to present physics in a traditional way, and since such individuals often meet each other periodically at the International Physics Olympiad, such activities are also initiated and carried out.

The head of the International Physics Olympiad considered the main motivation and purpose of universities in hosting the event: The Olympiad exams include both theoretical and practical tests, answered by high school students who are their countries' best and brightest minds. The questions they answer are derived from scientific articles and research and designed by professors at the master's and doctoral levels.

He added regarding universities' role in this international event: It can be concluded that the university is an appropriate and suitable place for those who want to create suitable conditions for such exams because university professors and even school teachers are skilled in this matter and can assist in its implementation. Additionally, other teams are also active in logistics, accommodation, financial matters, and accounting for this Olympiad.

Ravat, referring to Iran's successful experience in hosting the 2007 Olympiad, stated: Iran did something extraordinary in 2007, although at that time there were significantly more countries, and now due to geopolitical reasons, the number of these countries has decreased. Nevertheless, readiness for hosting 50 or 80 countries makes no difference to Iran because Iran has experience in hosting this event and participates in the International Physics Olympiad every year. Therefore, I truly believe that this edition of the Olympiad will also be excellent in terms of preparations and test quality, so I expect remarkable work from Iran.

Regarding his trip to Iran, he said: This is my third trip to Iran, and in 2007, I traveled from Singapore to Isfahan for the first time because of hosting the International Physics Olympiad. The current trip was not a major problem due to the international airport in Isfahan, but I need stronger and higher-quality internet, which is the only issue. Apart from that, everything is good and desirable.
